FREE CONCERT IN THE PLAZA Recap

With 5 sets of drums rollin, double the flute power, a shredder on the guitar, and a screaming trumpet, SLO let loose on the dance floor with the help of the Zongo All Stars. And before the show, the Mobb discovered a traveling street band, Ashes to Light, that's sharing their musical genius with the country on a free tour of the US. So, if you see them on the street make sure to drop a few bills and listen to them jam it up.

THIS WEEK'S SLOCAL SKATER

David is a baller on his skate, skim, and behind the camera & agreed to share his sickness with the Mobb this week. As a pro photographer with his own business @ only 21, this dude is a rare breed being able to rock all forms of camera work as far as the Mobb's concerned. David says "I like to capture perspectives not normally experienced by the human eye in everyday life." See what he's spittin about in some examples below & check out his website HERE for more. The skim is really where it's at for David though, not only mashing his board @ the beach but on the street too. David's also got some rebel blood in him with his fav skate spots being a variety of business establishments in SLOtown, but he hasn't gotten busted yet...knock on wood.

See more pics of our sessh with this fresh Mobbster in his slide show & read up about him in our Mobberview below.

Q: What are your fav. skate tricks?

A: Empty pools & cruisin.

Q: How long have you been skating? skimming? doing photography?

A: For like 5 years, 9 years, and 4 years.

Q: How'd you get into skating?

A: Ummm lets see, it was just a way to get stuff off my mind and cruise it listening to music.

Q: What was your first skate?

A: Ohhhh God, it was a fully decked out blind skateboard.

Q: Have you had any nasty skate injuries?

A: No, I should be dead with all the stupid sh*t I do, but I've never broken anything.

Q: Who's your fav. pro skater?

A: I don't give a f*#$...

Q:
Who do you like jammin' to?

A: Depends on the mood but underground hip hop, grind core, and acoustic elektro.

Q: Anything else...

A: Basically, skating is a way to get things off my mind & I love the feel of carving and usually carry a notebook to write down my thoughts to turn into lyrics for songs later.
